Role Overview
Cadet Technician Programme with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, based in Abu Dhabi. This role is open to UAE Nationals only.

Role Purpose
The Cadet Technician Programme is a dynamic two-year training and development initiative designed to launch your aviation career and prepare you for progression to become a Licensed Aircraft Technician. The programme combines theoretical knowledge and on-the-job training to provide practical experience across all areas of aircraft maintenance, covering a range of aircraft types.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Certification
- Enroll in a recognized Aviation Maintenance training programme and complete the GCAA-approved aircraft maintenance technician course.
- Maintain an overall 75% pass rate of all module exams within stipulated timeframes.
- Gain practical on-the-job experience under supervision for the necessary 12 months to qualify for GCAA license and aircraft maintenance certification authorization.
- Obtain the CAT A license from GCAA.
- Obtain aircraft maintenance certification authorization.
- Graduate as a licensed Aircraft Technician.
Compliance and Performance
- Complete the GCAA-approved training syllabus and training programme requirements.
- Comply with performance requirements set by GCAA, the Training Institute, and the Company.
- Complete on-the-job training within assigned timeline following theory qualification.
- Successfully attend and pass scheduled mandatory training in accordance with Etihad Airways Policy.
- Participate in and successfully pass Technical Staff Competency Assessments whenever assigned.
Execution and Safety
- Diligently execute and complete Schedule of Work (logbook) with assigned tasks.
- Ensure all work performed at Etihad is completed in a safe manner in conformance with company procedures and in compliance with applicable GCAA regulations.
- Carry out work in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations.
- Own responsibility for work after completing tasks performed in accordance with approved data as assigned by Certifying Staff.
Continuous Development
- Keep yourself updated with applicable regulation amendments, company procedures, and latest maintenance best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- UAE national with valid family book.
- Between 18 and 29 years old.
- High school certificate or equivalent, including Mathematics, Physics, and Science with 60% overall score.
- Completed or permanently exempted from UAE National Service (males only).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong command of the English language.
Additional Information
- Willing to work shifts, including nights.
- Flexible about working outdoors.
