CAD Engineer (Modeler)

Boskalis is a global infrastructure and marine solutions company. The Hydronamic engineering department comprises approximately 80 people across different design disciplines, responsible for construction designs in tenders and acquired projects within the Dredging division. The team works from offices in Papendrecht and Abu Dhabi, delivering integral and multidisciplinary projects.

Role Purpose

As a 3D modeler, you will transform infrastructure and dredging projects into high-quality 3D models and pragmatic designs. You will contribute valuable insights to projects by balancing speed and accuracy, recognizing that modeled designs will be constructed in the field shortly after delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Modeling

• Develop 3D designs and create models using software, tools, methods, and techniques.
• Coordinate models to optimally facilitate implementation of geometrical designs.
• Review 3D models and ensure quality standards.

Project Coordination

• Review drawing specifications and reference designs.
• Gather all necessary information to determine what must be modeled in each construction phase.
• Identify interfaces, risks, and opportunities in the project model.
• Assist with model coordination across disciplines.

Technical Support

• Advise and support design and project teams on technical aspects and inquiries.
• Create animations to provide insight into processes and constructions.

Development

• Work in the Boskalis development toolchain with guidance and coaching to integrate quickly into the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree level in Civil Engineering, Survey, or similar discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of modeling software Civil3D in combination with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of CAD-BIM standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Proficient in English.
