C-17 Support Equipment Technician

Role Overview

C-17 Support Equipment Technician at Boeing Operations International Incorporated Kuwait, based at Al-Mubarak Air Base in Kuwait City. This position requires relocation to Kuwait.

Role Purpose

Coordinate the maintenance and calibration of Kuwait Air Force Support Equipment in support of C-17 Field Services, planning and executing repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Calibration Coordination

• Coordinate C-17 Support Equipment maintenance requirements across all assigned systems.
• Plan, research, develop, analyze and retrofit repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Plan and coordinate modifications, maintenance, and repair of enterprise products.
• Maintain equipment and systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components.
• Perform a variety of inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents.
• Conduct complex functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components.

Documentation & Procedures

• Define procedures, special tooling, kit requirements, work packages, and material requirements for accomplishment of inspections, modifications, improvement changes, and repairs of delivered products.
• Document maintenance and inspection actions as required.
• Maintain database records for equipment status, spare part demands and the spare tool program.
• Maintain knowledge of TCMAX or other tool control programs.
• Maintain tools, Hazmat, PMEL, weight check and other position requirements as directed by management or Boeing.

Project Management & Analysis

• Assist in project development, planning, implementation, management, and technical support activities related to Support Equipment maintenance, modifications, calibration, proof load test and repairs.
• Assist engineering staff in planning and incorporating improvements.
• Review and recommend projects and proposals for aircraft Support Equipment modification.
• Assist in moderately complex or multiple projects and develop, coordinate and forecast requirements.
• Monitor project performance and risks and take necessary corrective action.

Training & Development

• Train and resolve problems for less experienced technicians.
• Work under general direction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining aircraft support equipment.
• Minimum 3 years' experience maintaining Ground Support Equipment for US Air Force and/or Boeing aircraft.
• High school diploma or GED and typically 5 or more years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components and conduct complex functional tests by operating ground support equipment using appropriate test tools.
• Ability to perform a variety of inspections as required and familiarity with associated documentation programs.
• Knowledge of USAF Technical Orders and Forms.
• Knowledge of documentation programs including AFI 21-101, 00-20-1, and related standards.
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and other vehicles as required.
• Proficiency with database entry software systems and Microsoft operating systems, including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

• This is an international, locally hired position in Kuwait. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll; compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Kuwait law.
• Management, day-to-day supervision at the workplace and administration of compensation and benefits will be arranged by Boeing Kuwait, Inc.

• This position does not require a Security Clearance.
