Company Overview

Boeing Global Services operates the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program maintenance team on-site at Al Mubarak Air Base Kuwait, supporting the Kuwait Air Force.

Role Purpose

Oversee and coordinate organizational-level maintenance activities for C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to meet Kuwait Air Force mission requirements. Lead maintenance teams through flight line operations, scheduled maintenance visits, and Home Station Checks while managing resources, quality metrics, and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership and Team Management

• Serve as Contractor Logistics Support shift leader responsible for coordination of all aircraft organizational maintenance activities in a fast-paced, dynamic flight line environment and during recurring Home Station Checks.
• Direct, train, and mentor a group of multi-level mechanics and technicians in the execution of daily aircraft launch, recovery, pre- and post-flight maintenance activities, and servicing tasks.
• Work independently with very little direction and remain resilient to a fluid environment with changing customer requirements.

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling

• Oversee multiple final scheduled maintenance visit plans and manage a major plan.
• Lead maintenance debrief and records review.
• Work with Logistics Data Management function to develop maintenance plans, including prioritizing, scheduling, and reporting of aircraft and maintenance status.
• Accomplish unscheduled maintenance activities.
• Define project schedule and approve definition.

Resource and Supply Chain Management

• Manage resource requirements and parts availability with supply-chain.
• Understand the critical relationship between the flying schedule and airworthiness requirements and availability of parts when allocating manpower resources.

Quality and Corrective Action

• Track quality metrics and initiate corrective action.
• Track quality metrics and report on the health of the organization.
• Utilize sound judgment and critical thinking to evaluate acceptable quality standards before authorizing exceptional release of the aircraft.
• Utilize knowledge and experience to evaluate issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans that enhance the overall mission capable rate.

Stakeholder Communication and Liaison

• Maintain a continuous communication link between touch labor, Field Operations management, Boeing support functions, and Kuwait Air Force flight crews.
• Liaison with internal and external customers as the subject matter expert for Kuwait Air Force aircraft condition and operational capability.

Process and Strategic Development

• Manage, develop, and update Contractor Logistics Support processes and procedures.
• Participate with organizational leaders in the development and implementation of plans and objectives, including long-range strategies, organizational goals, objectives and initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10 or more years of C-17 maintenance experience.
• Education or experience typically acquired through basic education such as a High School diploma or GED, and typically 5 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as vocational school with Associate degree plus 2 years of related work, or Bachelor degree.
• Experience managing C-17 flight line operational maintenance activities in an Air Force environment highly desired.
• Experience supporting Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program and Foreign Military Sales in a multi-national environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Competency in reading, comprehension, and speaking the English language is necessary. English is the primary language of the Kuwait Air Force community on the airbase.
• Wide-ranging and specialized knowledge of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and subsystems, including its associated technical network, is required.
• Extensive knowledge of Air Force procedures, processes, technical orders, and maintenance information systems such as G081 is a must.
• Knowledge of import and export regulations is required.
• Sound judgment and critical thinking.
• Root cause analysis capability.

Additional Information

• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• Employment will be contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of Kuwait, which includes a clean criminal records check.
