Role Overview
Buyer - Procurement at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, 50 miles from Dubai International Airport.
Company Overview
Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE, set to open in 2027. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a theater, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.
Role Purpose
The Buyer supports Wynn Al Marjan Island's Procurement Team by sourcing, negotiating, processing and ordering goods and services for Food & Beverage operations in accordance with end-user requirements and Procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Procurement
- Source, negotiate, process and order goods and services for F&B as required by end users in accordance with Procurement operations.
- Ensure ordering of goods and services meets customer requirements in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Monitor and document the sourcing and negotiation of price and availability of products per customer department requirements and specifications within agreed lead-time.
- Handle all correspondence, negotiations and procurement to the Company's best advantage.
- Advise the Manager, Procurement of unusual or remarkable costs, purchases and consumption of inventory and non-inventory items and suggest ways to reduce costs, including alternative sources for products.
Data Management and Documentation
- Ensure accurate recording of purchasing information by performing data entry tasks associated with purchase requisitions (manual or computer generated) and purchase orders.
- Correct or cancel all purchase orders and requisitions as required.
- Catalogue and maintain product and supplier files.
- Document all relevant information and supplier responses in regard to product availability, specification and price.
- Resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documentation and vendor invoices.
Inventory and Stock Management
- Visit store areas (internal and external) periodically to monitor stock on premises and the potential use and level of holdings.
- Collaborate with end users and Inventory Control to manage inventory levels to supply operational needs, while maximizing turnover and storage space.
- Assist with preparation of various monthly reports on orders raised, products used and stock holdings issued to departments, ensuring adequate levels are maintained.
Supply Chain and Reporting
- Undertake analysis and measurement of supply chain performance by preparation of reports for review to ensure smooth and improved operation of supply chain activities.
- Update and contribute to monthly reporting.
Supplier Relations and Controls
- Maintain productive and proactive business relations with suppliers and related organizations within strict contractual supply guidelines as directed.
- Enforce Procurement internal controls, policies and procedures for inventory and non-inventory purchases, services, petty cash and emergency purchases.
Operations and Team Support
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work and follow through on issues in a timely manner.
- Perform duties assigned by the Senior Buyer or other members of Procurement Management.
- Interact with Department and Company Team Members, management and suppliers professionally and positively.
- Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit and ensure effective two-way and multicultural communications.
- Demonstrate reliability on completion of tasks, attendance and punctuality.
- Take responsibility for own performance improvement and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Secondary school diploma or above.
- Minimum 2 years' related experience in luxury hotel and resorts food and beverages procurement.
- BirchStreet experience is preferred.
