Role Purpose
Implement buy strategy for assigned brands and build product assortment that meets customer needs and drives growth of the Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle business. Support the General Manager Merchandising in identifying short and long-term strategic approaches, future growth opportunities, and areas of risk relating to product ranging, allocation, inventory, brand perception, pricing, and margin.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Formulate suitable buy strategy and plan in line with Brand and Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle guidelines.
- Highlight short and long-term strategic approaches and future growth opportunities to senior leadership.
Procurement & Product Management
- Purchase commercial and profitable product ranges to maximize profitability and sales.
- Control all aspects of stock to minimize loss of sales and balance product mix through consistent and rigorous in-season analyses.
- Negotiate product pricing, cost of shipment, payment terms, and intake margin with local vendors, prioritizing business and cost effectiveness.
Performance & Risk Management
- Monitor brand performance and initiate corrective action to ensure operations are conducted within agreed financial parameters.
- Identify areas of risk for the business and communicate findings to leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Deeply understand brand perception, product feedback, and product requests by regularly visiting stores and interacting with store teams.
- Nurture strong working relationships with Planning, Finance, Digital, Logistics, and Operations teams to drive common business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, or related field.
- Qualification in Retail Management.
- 3-4 years of experience in a Buying and Merchandising role.
- Fashion retail background is mandatory.
