Role Overview
Business Engagement Manager at Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi. The role fosters strategic partnerships between the Operations Division and the Ops Analytics department, serving as a strategic interface between operations leadership and analytical functions to drive value creation and operational transformation.

Role Purpose
Enable data-driven decision-making and operational transformation across the Operations Division by serving as the primary liaison between operations leadership—including C-suite and VPs—and the Ops Analytics function, ensuring alignment of analytical capabilities with business priorities to enhance cost efficiency, service excellence, and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Foster strategic partnerships between key business stakeholders from the Operations Division and the Ops Analytics department.
- Act as the primary liaison between one of the verticals within the Operations Division and the Ops Analytics department, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of strategic goals.
- Work closely with data analysts and scientists from within the Ops Analytics unit and external business partners within the broader Operations Division to deliver analytical initiatives.
Analytics & Insights Generation
- Generate strategic insights from data to support business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Translate complex operational challenges into strategic analytical requirements and ensure solutions are tailored to business priorities.
- Develop actionable insights from data analysis to inform strategic decision-making and operational improvements to drive efficiency, enhance service delivery, and optimize operational performance.
- Ensure the successful delivery of data requests, leveraging an understanding of both data and business units.
Strategic Influence & Leadership
- Leverage a strong understanding of operational processes, business drivers, and analytics to influence decision-making at the executive level.
- Proactively address business problems and make strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
- Anticipate emerging business needs and proactively shape analytical roadmaps to address key efficiency, cost, and service challenges.
Prioritization & Communication
- Ensure all analytical and reporting needs are effectively prioritized and communicated, aligned with corporate objectives, and supported by the appropriate analytical stacks.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor and measure the impact of implemented recommendations and adjust strategy to sustain performance improvements.
Operations & Delivery
- Identify, assess, and prioritize business needs, facilitating the development and implementation of solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance customer experience, safety, and operational reliability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably in Aviation Management, Operations, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable but not essential.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business engagement, operations management, or a related role within the airline or transportation industry.
- Understanding of airline operations and airline industry best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
