Role Overview
Bus Driver at International Schools Partnership, The Aquila School. Full-time position.
Role Purpose
Transport children safely to and from school while maintaining vehicle standards, ensuring student welfare, and upholding safeguarding responsibilities as a member of the school community.
Key Responsibilities
Transport & Student Safety
- Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons.
- Ensure safety of all students at all times.
- Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required.
- Discipline children when required to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends.
Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times.
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
- Ensure that your RTA approvals are up to date and carry them along on all trips.
- Obey all traffic laws.
Operational & Professional Duties
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Carry out any tasks required by the school or the regional office to facilitate the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
Additional Information
Contract & Hours
- Hours of work: 8 hours per day, Monday to Thursday 5:30 AM to 5:00 PM; Friday 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with appropriate break time.
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- 30 days holiday per school year.
Reporting & Management
- Line managed by the Facility Manager and Transport & Housekeeping Supervisor.
Safeguarding
- All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures, including an online due diligence search, references and satisfactory Criminal Background Checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years' employment history.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is required.
