Role Overview

Biomedical Engineering Technician (UAE Nationals Only) at Ajman University, College of Dentistry.

Role Purpose

Maintain all dental equipment in the College of Dentistry to ensure optimal functioning and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine maintenance checks on biomedical equipment and dental equipment.
• Repair faculty machinery on a routine basis and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain a daily maintenance report documenting equipment breakdowns in the College.

Installation & Configuration

• Install new dental equipment and perform required adjustments according to manufacturer specifications.

Training & Operational Support

• Train staff members and students to operate and care for equipment with physical demonstration.

Inventory & Procurement

• Update inventory records for dental equipment and spare parts.
• Place orders for dental equipment or spare parts as required.
• Verify deliveries against orders.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all equipment meets company standards of safety and quality.
• Verify compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Communicate and follow up with suppliers and companies.
• Report any equipment breakouts or issues to relevant parties.

Documentation & Analysis

• Prepare technical reports.
• Review technical offers.

General

• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical technology, or similar field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a biomedical technician.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information in layman's terms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Technical skills and ability to repair machinery with meticulous attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the structure and uses of dental equipment.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

• Reports to: Dean of College.
• UAE Nationals only.
