BIM Manager - Infrastructure

Role Overview

BIM Manager - Infrastructure at HILL International. This role manages the implementation and delivery of Building Information Modelling across large-scale roads, utilities, and urban infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose

Oversee BIM standards, model coordination, digital workflows, and information management to ensure collaboration between design, construction, and project controls teams while supporting efficient project delivery, clash detection, and compliance with client and industry BIM requirements.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Standards & Strategy

• Establish all BIM requirements for each project including preparation and review of the BIM Execution Plan, LOD Matrix, modelling methodology, and coordination strategy.
• Define collaboration and exchange timeframes, file formats, and other BIM requirements, communicating them to all consultants and contractors involved.
• Review BIM protocols and required BIM documentation to enable successful implementation.
• Attend technical coordination workshops to gather information required to develop the project's tailored BIM strategy.
• Audit and review BIM Models, BIM Execution Plans, and related documentation against established BIM standards and protocols.

Model Coordination & Quality Assurance

• Audit design and construction models at each submission to ensure consistency, verify information attached to geometry for scheduling and BOQs, identify overlapping or duplicating geometries, resolve warnings, and assess file sizes and over-modelling.
• Coordinate BIM activities among the lead design consultant, other consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure digital models are properly integrated and aligned with program and construction requirements.
• Monitor model development progress and identify integration gaps.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination to ensure BIM outputs support project design and delivery objectives in accordance with PMC design management responsibilities.
• Review reports of utility clashes, BOQs, and material specification extraction from the BIM model.

Stakeholder Support & Collaboration

• Attend and provide support during coordination meetings with consultants.
• Provide direct support to the project team in extracting information from models or for visualization purposes.
• Elaborate to the client the models, sections, and clashes in Revit and AutoCAD 360.
• Review deliverables of the existing design and construction team during project implementation.

Compliance & Safety

• Comply with relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures in place within HILL International.
• Ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by HILL.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor, including occasional drafting work in support of PMC activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience across all phases of BIM Management.
• At least 3 recent years in a similar position within a PMC team.

Skills & Competencies

• Fully conversant with Civil 3D and all modern BIM software.
• Fully conversant with Abu Dhabi Municipality Requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences.

• Ability to prioritize and undertake a range of tasks with a positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
