Role Purpose

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests using the resort beach and swimming areas by continuously monitoring water conditions and guest activities, enforcing safety procedures, and responding promptly to emergencies while providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Monitoring & Emergency Response

• Monitor guests in designated sea swimming and beach areas during operational hours, ensuring compliance with all beach safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain a zero-drowning standard by continuously monitoring swimmers and assessing sea conditions, tides, weather, currents, and other potential safety risks.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, performing sea-water rescues and providing first aid, CPR, AED, and spinal management as required.

Equipment & Facilities

• Inspect the beach area and rescue equipment regularly to ensure they are safe, accessible, properly maintained, and ready for use.
• Maintain and operate all rescue and emergency equipment correctly, ensuring it is safely stored and readily available at all times.

Reporting & Compliance

• Report hazards, maintenance issues, accidents, and safety concerns immediately, while strictly adhering to hotel health, safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures.

Guest Service

• Provide professional and friendly assistance to guests, promote safe swimming practices, and support a safe and enjoyable beach experience.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must hold a valid and active Beach Lifeguard qualification.
• Certified and competent in sea-water rescue, CPR, AED, first aid, and spinal management.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a lifeguard, preferably within a hotel, resort, or beach environment.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of beach safety procedures, emergency response, tides, currents, weather conditions, and water safety.
• Physically fit, strong swimmer, alert, and able to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Good command of spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong communication, teamwork, observation, and guest service skills.
• Able to operate, maintain, and safely store rescue and emergency equipment.
