Role Purpose

To serve guests in accordance with Minor Hotels standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and sanitation in a gracious and professional manner, while displaying the best of national hospitality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Bar Operations & Setup

• Professionally set up the bar at the start of opening, including liquor, icing, glassware, juices, and garnishes.
• Receive and check liquor against previous shift's requisitions, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Beverage Manager.
• Manage security in the work area and never leave the bar unless properly relieved by a colleague.

Beverage Service

• Process drink orders in proper calling order and check for correct number of drinks.
• Make all cocktails in accordance with Minor Hotels Resorts & Spas standard beverage manual, using full standard measures.
• Manage billing quickly and efficiently.

Hospitality & Guest Service

• Display the best of national hospitality and professionalism with guests.
• Communicate in a friendly manner, listen actively, and handle customer requests professionally.

Standards & Maintenance

• Take pride in all facets of service, quality, appearance, and cleanliness in yourself and your area of responsibility.
• Understand and adhere to Beverage Department Standard Operating Procedures and always look to recommend improvements to those procedures.
• Assist with cleanup, including mopping floors, removal of cans and bottles, general cleaning of rails and counters, and removal of melting ice in bins.

Additional Duties

• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in bartending in luxury hotels and restaurants.
• Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, and drink preparation techniques.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to operate a POS system, process payments, and maintain accurate transactions.
• Friendly communication and active listening skills.
• Good memory, attention to detail, patience, and teamwork.
• Reliability and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and working in a busy environment.
• Good spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
