Role Purpose

Deliver exceptional barista and guest service by preparing handcrafted specialty coffee beverages and drinks to IHG brand standards, warmly welcoming guests, accurately taking orders, and proactively addressing service needs in a high-volume hotel café environment.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation & Service

• Prepare and serve a wide range of handcrafted coffee beverages, specialty teas, and seasonal drinks in accordance with IHG brand standards, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by warmly welcoming guests, taking orders accurately, recommending menu items, and proactively addressing guest needs.

Facility & Equipment Management

• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene by ensuring all workstations are organized, sanitized, and compliant with Dubai Municipality and IHG requirements.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance, coordinating with the Maintenance team to promptly resolve any equipment-related issues.

Operations & Cost Management

• Manage inventory and stock control by monitoring product levels, applying FIFO procedures, minimizing waste, merchandising café displays, processing POS transactions accurately, and contributing to overall cost efficiency and operational excellence.

Guest & Stakeholder Relations

• Build positive relationships with hotel guests, long-stay residents, and local professionals by actively gathering feedback and addressing service requirements in a timely and professional manner.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all hotel safety, sustainability, and operational procedures by reporting hazards, accidents, maintenance concerns, and equipment defects promptly to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of barista experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, high-volume café, or specialty coffee outlet in Dubai or the UAE.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal barista certification (e.g., SCA) or hospitality diploma is preferred.
• Valid Basic Food Hygiene Certification compliant with Dubai Municipality rules, or willingness to obtain upon joining.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in espresso preparation, manual milk steaming, dial-in calibration, and basic latte art.
• Strong English communication skills; knowledge of Arabic or additional languages is an advantage.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with a strong guest-first mindset suited for a busy corporate and leisure hotel environment.
