Role Overview

Barista at Marriott International. This position is based at a Marriott property location.

Role Purpose

Create memorable and unique beverage experiences for guests while serving as a host of the bar space. The role combines technical expertise in drink preparation with genuine hospitality, anticipating and delivering on guest needs while maintaining flawless bar operations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

• Build relationships with guests and hotel colleagues to anticipate and deliver on evolving guest needs.
• Take ownership of guest service broadly, going beyond the bar to ensure a memorable experience.
• Demonstrate passion for the guest service experience while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Beverage Expertise & Operations

• Stay current with beverage trends, micro-local offerings, and industry innovations.
• Use knowledge and expertise to prepare drinks with precision and consistency.
• Ensure the bar looks and functions flawlessly.

Operational Accountability

• Create and maintain a safe workplace.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality.
• Handle cash and financial transactions with accuracy and integrity.
• Maintain professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Beverage preparation and mixology.
• Hospitality and guest service excellence.
• Attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
• Physical capability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Knowledge and communication skills to provide accurate information to guests.
