Role Overview
Ball Picker at wasl (Viya), Topgolf Dubai. Reports to Team Leader / Assistant Facilities Manager within Facilities Maintenance - Engineering.

Role Purpose
The Ball Picker supports a safe, seamless, and enjoyable guest experience at Topgolf by ensuring timely collection, cleaning, and redistribution of golf balls while maintaining an outfield free of ball buildup and keeping all bays consistently stocked for uninterrupted gameplay. This role is essential to maintaining operational flow and guest satisfaction through efficient outfield and ball management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Ball Collection & Outfield Operations
- Collect golf balls from all areas of the outfield at regular intervals
- Operate ball picking machines and field buggies safely and efficiently
- Ensure the field maintains minimal ball buildup to support gameplay flow
Ball Processing & Distribution
- Load collected balls into washing systems
- Operate ball washer and sorting equipment to separate usable and faulty balls
- Ensure proper cleaning processes including detergent use and ratios
- Refill ball hoppers and bay ball dispensers
- Ensure all bays are consistently stocked to required levels
Target & Field Monitoring
- Retrieve golf balls from target zones using picking or vacuum equipment
- Monitor targets for jams or blockages and clear them promptly
- Perform basic field grooming activities
- Observe turf condition and report any issues to the supervisor
Equipment Handling & Care
- Operate and handle equipment including ball picking machines, ball washers, field buggies, and field groomers
- Conduct basic checks to ensure equipment is in safe working condition
- Report any faults or maintenance needs promptly
Teamwork & Operations Support
- Support the Facilities and Operations teams as required
- Maintain professionalism and teamwork in all daily activities
- Assist during peak periods and events to ensure smooth operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Facilities Management
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure Health, Safety, Hygiene, Food Safety and Municipality regulations are adhered to
- Make thorough spot checks and report any faults immediately to the Executive Chef
- Demonstrate Viya's Mission, Vision and Values
- Apply the 4 Service Targets throughout serving internal and external customers
- Participate in various extra activities contributing to the growth of Topgolf culture including evening functions
IT Security Awareness
- Read, understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG
- Cooperate, coordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate
- Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department
- Report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected) immediately to the IT Service Desk
