Role Overview

Assistant Vice President & Lead, CAD International at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), based at Head Office. The role provides direct supervision and engagement to ensure timely fulfilment of day-to-day tasks, business requirements and regular housekeeping activities in accordance with regulatory and performance standards.

Role Purpose

Lead the CAD International-DU team in Head Office and monitor the CAD International governance framework across processes, people, systems and administration. Act as the focal point of contact between Head Office and Country CAD teams, ensuring alignment, compliance, risk mitigation and continuous improvement across all international CAD operations.

Key Responsibilities

Processes & Governance

• Act as focal point of contact between Head Office and Country CAD teams on matters related to CAD.
• Prepare and review various consolidated reports for CAD International.
• Oversee Loan Documentation managed by Country CAD teams through periodic review of data maintained in GLCMS and Core Banking System.
• Publish reports on data maintained in systems and liaise with Country CAD teams on corrective actions.
• Assist Country CAD teams in drafting CAD Standard Operating Procedures and liaise with Group Operational Risk for review and finalization.
• Evaluate the efficacy of CAD Standard Operating Procedures and associated checks and controls for Country CAD teams on an ongoing basis.
• Review Country Audit reports and liaise with Country CAD teams in timely closure of internal and external audit observations.
• Complete the annual Risk and Control Assessment exercise (RCSA) as required and perform control testing.
• Maintain and update the Annual Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for the Unit, conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and risk assessment to identify critical functions and processes.
• Develop strategies and preventive control measures to mitigate credit and operational risks in CAD processes.

Administration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct gap analysis and peer review of CAD processes and collate enhancement needs to better support Country CAD teams' requirements.
• Prepare and periodically review training manuals for Country CAD teams covering system and process.
• Organize and conduct semi-annual CAD Academy training sessions and conduct periodic system and functional training for international branches.
• Arrange periodic communication forums with key stakeholders in Head Office and international branches.
• Attend fortnightly communication forums with CAD Cluster Heads and track action plans.
• Conduct quarterly video conference calls with Cluster Heads, Country CAD teams and develop key action plans for tracking and implementation.

Systems & Technology

• Represent CAD International as an SME during various projects implementation.
• Collaborate with IT and CAD Projects team on system enhancements as requested from Country CAD teams.
• Review and sign off various system-related documents from a CAD perspective including BRDs, Design Documents, Solution Designs, and Migration Approach.
• Carry out User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on system enhancements and participate in data migration and validation exercises.

People & Capability

• Develop and enhance the competency level of the team through up-skilling, cross-skilling in product, system and process knowledge.
• Evaluate staff training needs and liaise with FAB Business School to arrange training and refresher courses.
• Ensure completion of mandatory training requirements for the team.
• Develop SMART goals for the team.
• Effectively manage staff leaves and ensure adequate resources are available to support business continuity.
• Ensure timely performance feedback, recognition and acknowledgement.
• Undertake all other roles and responsibilities assigned by the Head of CAD International from time to time.
