Role Overview
AVP, Global Structured Finance at QNB, based in London, United Kingdom, reporting to the Regional Head Global Structured Finance or the SVP Corporate & Institutional Banking within the Corporate Banking & Financial Institutions department.

Role Purpose
The incumbent will support the initiation, preparation, processing and execution of Global Structured Finance transactions for the Group's private corporate and institutional (including government) clientele, facilitating growth and expansion of the corporate banking business. The role will serve as a Transaction Officer supporting timely and proper execution of transactions assigned by leadership and undertaking special tasks from the VP Global Structured Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial
- Participate in formulation and implementation of strategies, business plans and budgets of the Unit in line with overall QNB Group objectives.
- Support the VP Global Structured Finance and SVP Corporate & Institutional Banking in achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Meet assigned target budget and achieve all volume, revenue, and profit targets for Global Structured Finance transactions in accordance with QNB's corporate banking budget and strategy.
- Support credit-related decision-making by ensuring availability of sound and quality information and analysis necessary for accurate credit risk assessment and mitigation.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity to minimize costs, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Manage all assigned transactions and products to maximize product potential and profitability.
- Act within the limits of powers delegated to the incumbent.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Assist with collection, analysis and storage of relevant business, financial and operational information on the Unit's borrowers, transactions and bank counterparties and correspondents as required by KYC and other bank and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Conduct proactive gathering, analysis and reporting of market and business information including current market conditions and trends, competitor actions, customer preferences and other market and industry developments through regular interaction with key market participants such as banks, major corporations and government entities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other market players active in the Global Structured Finance industry to ensure QNB is positioned to identify future business opportunities and meet business objectives.
- Continually stay informed of local, regional and international financial markets and economic environment to identify potential projects translating to business opportunities for the QNB Group.
- Maintain good teamwork, provide support, assistance and cooperation with other members of the Global Structured Finance Department both locally and from the Group structure.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all related units to achieve Group's goals and objectives.
- Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of operational and administrative problems and provide quick and satisfactory responses to queries from customers and counterparties.
- Assist customers with all queries on bank products and seek solutions to their requests.
- Provide timely and accurate information to external and internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk Functions as required.
Operations & Processing
- Act as support to the main Transaction Officer for structuring, credit processing, preparation, loan documentation, execution and distribution of assigned Global Structured Finance transactions.
- Assist with data collection for and preparation of comprehensive credit proposals, credit and marketing presentations including customer, business, project, market and industry information for new or prospective customers, or periodic reviews and monitoring of existing customers, in accordance with bank Credit Policy and procedures.
- Perform verification of information on Global Structured Finance transactions to ensure correctness of data.
- Provide information and support to the team when reviewing credit worthiness and financial feasibility of individual project financing proposals based on analysis of current and future market conditions, debt service capability, expected cash flows and other financial information of borrowers and projects.
- Ensure QNB's interests are adequately safeguarded before recommending approval of credit.
- Assist in preparation of Credit Summary Report, credit proposals and other credit and business memos in accordance with Credit Policy and procedures, adequately addressing all relevant risk factors and ensuring adherence to international credit standards, procedures, requirements and practices.
- Coordinate with internal or external legal counsel to ensure all legal and security documents required by transactions are complete, prepared in proper format, legally binding and enforceable.
- Liaise when required with other parties comprising the project financing consortium depending on the role assigned to other parties.
- Ensure copies of duly executed Facility Agreement and other legal and security documents, including conditions precedent, are immediately provided to Credit Department and Agency Unit per bank procedures.
- Provide information for collating and storing information on the Unit's transactions, activities and performance in timely, accurate and efficient manner as required by existing procedures.
- Maintain and update database for Unit's activities, customer contacts, existing and potential clients' information, transactions and deal pipeline.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments and units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
