Role Purpose
The AV Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hotel's audio-visual equipment. This role supports meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and other events by ensuring all AV systems function properly and deliver a seamless experience for guests while maintaining the hotel's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Setup and Operation
- Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and special events.
- Test all equipment before events to ensure everything is fully operational.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot projectors, LED screens, televisions, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing equipment, and control systems.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on AV equipment to ensure reliable performance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly to minimize disruptions during events.
- Respond promptly to AV-related maintenance requests from guests and internal departments.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment history.
Event Support
- Monitor audio, video, and presentation systems during events and provide technical support when required.
- Coordinate with Banquets, Events, Sales, IT, and other departments to meet event requirements.
Inventory and Equipment Management
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment, accessories, cables, and spare parts.
- Ensure AV equipment is handled, stored, and maintained in good working condition.
General Duties
- Follow hotel policies, health and safety procedures, and brand standards at all times.
- Support energy conservation initiatives and recommend equipment improvements when appropriate.
- Assist the Engineering team with general maintenance duties when operationally required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
