Role Overview
Auto Welding Technician at NMDC Group. This role operates on offshore pipelay barges and vessels during pipeline installation campaigns.
Role Purpose
Perform maintenance, installation, repair, and upgrades on NMDC automated welding and support systems while ensuring optimal equipment performance, safe working conditions, and compliance with HSE standards on offshore vessels.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Installation
- Perform equipment maintenance, installations, repair, and upgrades on NMDC automated welding and support systems.
- Maintain and optimize automatic welding equipment to improve installation rates and reduce the cost of operation.
- Calibrate equipment as required.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Troubleshoot welding and support equipment and determine required corrective and preventive actions.
Operations & Inventory
- Maintain equipment logs and shift reporting.
- Maintain the required level of automatic welding spares and consumables on board offshore barges and vessels during pipeline installation campaigns.
Safety & Compliance
- Attend toolbox and safety meetings with the welding crews for implementation of NPCC and Client HSE safety procedures.
- Provide safe working environment on board offshore pipelay barges and vessels.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, Policy of Integrity, Code of Conduct, and HSE standards.
Additional Duties
- Execute any other duties as assigned by reporting and operational leaders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
