Auto Electrician

Role Overview

Auto Electrician at Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company. The role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all electrical systems and components in trucks, trailers, and heavy vehicles, including hoopers and bulkers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe, reliable operating condition in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnosis and Repair

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and components in trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair truck electronic control systems (ECU, ABS, EBS, transmission electronics).
• Troubleshoot lighting systems (headlights, indicators, brake lights, interior lights, etc.).
• Service and repair starter motors, alternators, and batteries.

Component Installation and Maintenance

• Install and maintain sensors, relays, switches, and other electronic components.
• Maintain lighting systems across all vehicle types.

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce downtime.

Diagnostics and Testing

• Use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and scanning devices to identify electrical issues.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.

Documentation and Compliance

• Ensure proper record keeping of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Follow workshop safety standards and use PPE when performing tasks.

Emergency Support

• Support emergency roadside repairs when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Auto Electrical or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience as an auto electrician, preferably with heavy trucks and trailers.
• Strong knowledge of truck electrical systems (24V systems, sensors, alternators, starters).

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Understanding of CAN bus systems, ECU, and modern truck electronics.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team player with good communication skills.
