Role Overview

Attender at NMC Royal Hospital.

Role Purpose

Support nursing staff and assist patients with daily care needs, hygiene, mobility, and comfort while maintaining ward cleanliness and assisting with hospital operations as directed.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care and Support

• Assist in patient care and other ward-related duties as directed by and under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Respond quickly to patients' requests for assistance.
• Assist with patients' hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating and drinking needs while observing and reporting any specific changes to the staff nurse.
• Obtain patients' height and weight measurements.

Ward Maintenance and Logistics

• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness in all areas, including patients' rooms within the unit.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and storage areas.
• Transport specimens to laboratory.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing and cleaning patients' rooms for admission and discharge.

Coordination and Messenger Services

• Act as a messenger as required.
• Escort patients to and from Radiology Department as directed by nurse on duty.

Professional Development

• Participate in any scheduled educational activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school graduate.
• Demonstrate motivation to work in a healthcare environment.

Skills & Competencies

• Intermediate English skills preferred.
• Spoken Arabic advantageous.
