Role Overview

At Your Service Runner at Marriott, located as specified by the employer.

Role Purpose

Deliver items, amenities, and equipment to guest rooms and support hotel operations by ensuring communications equipment functions properly and guest requests are fulfilled promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Room Delivery

• Deliver items including messages, mail, faxes, packages, flowers, and sundry items to guest rooms.
• Deliver rollaway beds, cribs, linens, toiletries, and other items requested by guests to guest rooms.
• Place requested items such as rollaway beds and refrigerators in guest rooms.
• Deliver extra towels, bathrobes, and other items to guest rooms.
• Provide complimentary toiletries to guests, such as toothpaste, razors, and shampoo.
• Deliver food, beverage, or other amenities and assemble orders to go.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
• Assist individuals with disabilities.
• Thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Equipment & Communications

• Test beepers and radios to ensure communications equipment works properly.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Protect company assets.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Teamwork & Communication

• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Support team to reach common goals.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• No related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.

Skills & Competencies

• Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats, including small print.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces as well as up and down stairs and service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
