Associate Quality Inspector (E&I)

Role Overview

Associate Quality Inspector (E&I) at McDermott. The position supports the inspection discipline in an entry-level role, utilizing existing inspection procedures to solve routine or standard problems under instruction and guidance from the team.

Role Purpose

The Associate Quality Inspector performs routine quality inspection assignments to support product conformity verification and quality assurance across McDermott projects, working under the direction of senior inspection personnel and leveraging conceptual knowledge of inspection theories, practices, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Conformity Assessment

• Assist the Senior Quality Inspector/Quality Inspector in determining product conformity to customer specifications through independent inspections, daily surveillances, and tests by the Project Quality Plan.
• Assist the Senior Quality Inspector/Quality Inspector in appraising product quality to determine conformity and non-conformity in accordance with approved drawings and inspection and test plans.
• Assist the Senior Quality Inspector/Quality Inspector in performing field inspections by project specifications and scope of work as noted within the Project Quality Plan and ITPs.

Non-Conformity Management

• Identify non-conformity for rectification and ensure final resolution.
• Document all inspection results; raise documentation to establish corrective action when non-conformity exists.

Coordination and Compliance

• Assist the Senior Quality Inspector/Quality Inspector in coordinating the interface with operations, Certifying Authority, Client, Job Sharing personnel, and subcontractors, assuring conformity to project specifications.
• Assist the Senior Quality Inspector/Quality Inspector in confirming adherence to applicable procedures and plans by effective audit and surveillance.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or degree in relevant field of study.
• 2+ years of quality control or discipline-related experience in Inspection.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient with computers and Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
