Role Overview
Associate Production Engineer at McDermott. The role involves utilizing existing production procedures to solve routine or standard problems while leveraging conceptual knowledge of production and fabrication theories, practices, and procedures.
Role Purpose
To develop product designs based on customer interests and market research, oversee the engineering process from concept through manufacturing, and ensure products meet specifications and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development
- Develop design ideas based on customer interests, budgets, and market research
- Create rough product designs using sketches and computer software
- Create full product designs and specifications using computer software modeling techniques
Analysis and Planning
- Analyze the market and industry product trends
- Conduct theoretical testing on design models
- Select product materials and design the product manufacturing process
Collaboration and Oversight
- Meet with the development team to discuss product ideas
- Oversee assembly and ensure that products conform to market specifications and safety regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as a Product Engineer or similar role
- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Product Engineer

- Advanced analytical and design skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of industry and market trends
