Associate NDT Tech

Role Overview

Associate NDT Tech at McDermott, entry-level position completed with close supervision and support.

Role Purpose

Perform non-destructive testing examinations on welds and materials according to written procedures, codes, and specifications, while maintaining quality standards and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

NDT Examination & Testing

• Perform NDT examination of welds and materials including RT, UT, PT, and MT in accordance with written Project NDT plan, NDT Procedures, code, and contractual specification.
• Determine conformity and non-conformity flaws and report accurately.
• Assess examination results accurately, sentence welds, and report findings according to relevant code and specification acceptance criteria.

Quality & Equipment Management

• Perform and record daily equipment calibration of NDT equipment as per the requirement of NDT procedures.
• Work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods while adhering to quality guidelines.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with the assigned QC inspector to determine the completion of rectification work.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent degree.
• 1+ year experience as NDT technician in relevant discipline.
• ASNT, PCN, or CSWIP Level II qualification.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in use of computer and Microsoft programs.
• Basic skills in analytical or scientific method or operational process.
• Ability to accurately assess examination results and report findings.
