Role Overview
Associate Manager - Risk & Compliance at Majid Al Futtaim, Hypermarket Kuwait. This role assists the Risk and Compliance Manager in examining business operations to determine the adequacy and sustainability of processes, and in developing internal policies and procedures to reduce risk exposure.
Role Purpose
Support the Risk and Compliance function by developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, managing compliance reporting mechanisms, investigating policy violations, and delivering compliance awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Risk & Compliance Development
- Assist in developing and implementing risk and compliance initiatives across the business.
- Identify potential business risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Assist in updating and communicating risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze retail data and support the preparation of action plans to mitigate risks and losses.
- Prepare risk and compliance reports, maintain databases, and support system management activities.
Compliance Monitoring & Investigation
- Monitor and manage the integrity hotline to ensure proper reporting of compliance concerns.
- Participate in investigations related to fraud, theft, ethics breaches, corruption, and policy violations.
Training & Development
- Deliver compliance awareness training and support employee development initiatives related to risk and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, or a similar function.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and interpret data.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and investigation processes.
