Associate Field Engineer

Role Overview

Associate Field Engineer at McDermott. This role executes Field Engineering procedures to solve routine and standard problems on EPCI projects, receiving instruction and guidance from the engineering team while applying conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures.

Role Purpose

To support project execution in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation industry by conducting field monitoring, coordinating with stakeholders, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Field Execution and Monitoring

• Assist in the execution of engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards within the EPCI industry.
• Perform regular field visits to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues or deviations from design, and propose corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges on-site, offering innovative solutions to mitigate risks and optimize project performance.

Project Coordination and Communication

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support to both internal team members and external stakeholders, answering inquiries, clarifying technical aspects, and driving effective collaboration.

Planning and Documentation

• Contribute to the development of detailed project execution plans, including engineering deliverables, construction schedules, and commissioning activities.
• Generate accurate and detailed reports, including site progress updates, technical evaluations, and quality control assessments.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all HSE policies and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the project team and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards, as well as internal quality management systems, to achieve project objectives and customer satisfaction.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement, actively contributing to the improvement of project execution methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience in the EPCI industry.
• Familiarity with project execution practices and engineering processes.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards within the EPCI industry.
• Understanding of engineering principles, technical drawings, and specifications.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
