Role Overview
Assistant Team Leader at RAK BANK. The role drives new business acquisition, manages customer relationships, and promotes Personal Banking products through corporate partnerships and direct sales channels while supporting sales leadership in coordinating team activities and implementing effective sales strategies.
Role Purpose
To drive Personal Banking product sales across assigned regions, achieve revenue targets through direct sales and corporate partnerships, and support the Team Leader in executing sales strategies, managing team performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Promote and drive the sales of Personal Banking products, including Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Payroll Accounts, and other cross-sell products, within the assigned region and target markets.
- Achieve budgeted sales targets for both primary and secondary products in line with approved business plans and budgets.
- Conduct sales promotions, corporate presentations, group meetings, roadshows, and customer engagement activities to maximize business acquisition and achieve sales objectives.
- Manage and deliver assigned sales targets while actively identifying opportunities to cross-sell products and services from other business units.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and sales practices, and provide recommendations to enhance sales effectiveness and customer acquisition strategies.
Customer Relationship & Service
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote retention, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's products, services, policies, and processes to effectively address customer needs and recommend suitable financial solutions.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical sales practices by ensuring fair treatment of customers and avoiding misspelling, forced selling, inaccurate information, or unrealistic commitments.
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable compliance, CPF, regulatory, and internal policy requirements when dealing with customers.
Team Leadership & Support
- Act as a delegate for the Team Leader during their absence, ensuring continuity of day-to-day sales operations and team performance.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Support the Team Leader in the development, execution, and monitoring of sales plans and strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Assist in tracking team performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing initiatives to enhance productivity and sales effectiveness.
- Ensure all mandatory training programs, compliance requirements, certifications, and departmental deliverables are completed by team members within stipulated timelines.
- Support the development and coaching of underperforming team members through on-the-job training, joint client visits, mentoring, and business development activities.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture by sharing best practices, providing guidance, and promoting teamwork across the sales team.
- Perform any additional duties or responsibilities assigned by management to support departmental efficiency, operational excellence, and business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a specialist within a banking, financial services, or collections environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing collections campaigns across multiple product lines including credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, and mortgages.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with exposure to compliance and audit requirements is strongly preferred.
- Experience in the UAE or GCC banking sector is an advantage.
