Role Overview
Assistant Store Manager at Apparel Group. Support the Store Manager in efficient and profitable operation of the store, and assume full store responsibility in the Manager's absence.
Role Purpose
Ensure the highest levels of customer service are provided by retail staff, equip them with the skills and support required for maximizing sales, and maintain store operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Ensure retail staff have the skills to provide highest levels of customer service for maximizing sales.
- Maintain knowledge of new products, trends and fashion directives at all times in order to effectively respond to and anticipate customer needs.
- Promote the Club Apparel Loyalty Program of the company for repeat sales and maximizing loyalty.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to ensure minimal stock loss.
- Stay updated about the various brands of the group for suggestive selling to customers.
Store Operations & Compliance
- Assist the Store Manager in implementation of operating procedures at the store as per company standards.
- Ensure the brand and company's policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff at all times.
- Assume end-to-end store responsibility in absence of Store Manager.
- Regularly audit own store administration and resolve any issues.
- Manage daily roster, leave and grievances of retail staff.
Visual Merchandising & Standards
- Maintain visual merchandising standards at the store at all times as per set VM standards.
Store Security
- Ensure awareness and vigilance at all times of security in the store without any negligence.
Reporting & Feedback
- Provide feedback to the Store Manager and/or Area Manager with regards to employees and products.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be fashionable and well-groomed.
Skills & Competencies
- Physical fitness to stand for extended hours and heavy lifting.
