Assistant - Rigger

Role Overview

Assistant - Rigger at Al Ghurair. The role ensures all loads and equipment are lifted and set properly while demonstrating consistent commitment to safety, working as part of a team to keep operations running smoothly and on schedule.

Role Purpose

To support rigging operations by assisting with the safe lifting, slinging, and positioning of loads and equipment, maintaining rigging stores and equipment in proper working order, and collaborating with the rigger and supervisor to deliver safe, timely work.

Key Responsibilities

Rigging Operations

• Assist the rigger with day-to-day rigging and slinging duties.
• Select correct rigging equipment for each load.
• Assess each load and select proper equipment for the job.
• Work at heights and in mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs).
• Move rigging equipment to the work site and return to store at end of shift.

Equipment Management

• Report any faulty equipment to the rigger immediately.
• Inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working order.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

• Keep rigging stores clean and tidy.
• Assist the Supervisor/Foreman/Rigger to do the monthly color coding.
• Assist in housekeeping on site and in the rigging stores.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum: Rigging Certificates.
• Preferred: Red Seal certification.
• Preferred: Grade 10 certification.
• Preferred: 3 years' experience as a Rigger Assistant.
