Role Overview
Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical Substation (132 kV and above) at AtkinsRéalis. This is a regular employee position supporting the supervision of high-voltage electrical substation construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Role Purpose
Support the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of 132 kV and above AIS/GIS substations. Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedule commitments while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision
- Assist in supervising construction and installation activities for 132 kV and above AIS/GIS substations.
- Monitor the erection and installation of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, isolators, protection and control panels, SCADA systems, and associated equipment.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Review contractor work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.
- Verify compliance with HSE requirements and promote a safe working environment.
Testing and Commissioning
- Support testing and commissioning activities and witness site acceptance tests.
Performance and Progress Monitoring
- Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and quality of work.
Coordination and Issue Resolution
- Coordinate with contractors, client representatives, and project stakeholders to resolve site-related issues.
- Identify technical, construction, and interface issues and support their timely resolution.
Documentation and Technical Review
- Prepare site inspection reports, progress reports, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
- Assist in reviewing technical submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical substation projects.
- Experience in 132 kV and above substations.
- Exposure to AIS/GIS substations, construction supervision, and testing and commissioning activities.
- Membership in relevant professional engineering bodies is an advantage.

Additional Information
Preferred Experience
- Experience on EPC, Utility, Consulting, PMC, or Owner's Engineer projects.
- Experience with 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV, or higher voltage substations.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and utility standards.
- Previous experience supporting Resident Engineers on large-scale transmission and substation infrastructure projects.
