Role Overview
Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical at AtkinsRéalis. The role is based on-site and involves planning, implementation, maintenance of project engineering records, monitoring and expediting weekly reports, and developing and performing quality control procedures.

Role Purpose
The Resident Engineer is responsible for all planning aspects of a project, ensuring implementation and maintenance of project engineering records, monitoring accuracy of weekly reports, and developing and performing quality control procedures to support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Supervision
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
- Manage multiple construction projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress and compliance with design specifications.
- Monitor work schedules and recommend mitigation measures as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Proved track record for managing personnel and material resources.
Site Operations & Inspections
- Conduct active role in site inspections for civil construction material and review of shop drawings.
- Supervise and monitor detailed documentation of all site construction activities.
- Coordinate and demonstrate knowledge of permits and NOCs involved in execution of site activities.
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Technical & Engineering
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of engineering, technology, building, construction and design specifications of ADNOC and TRANSCO.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Assess, interpret and present survey reports and other critical data for stakeholders and shareholders.
- Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the UAE Building Code, safety regulations and standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with management to align activities with desired business outcomes.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrate active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction or industrial buildings.
- Minimum 12–15 years of construction experience in 132kV, 400kV substations and HV/EHV cable laying projects.
- Experience in ADNOC and TRANSCO projects.
- Experience as construction supervision consultant.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, GIS and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with other software relevant to project management and engineering.
- Exemplary critical thinking, analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
- Dedication to implement new concepts and strategies.
