Role Overview

Assistant Professor of Islamic Sharia at the University of Kalba, College of Law. Full-time faculty position based at the university.

Role Purpose

Teach Islamic Sharia courses to undergraduate law students, conduct scholarly research, and contribute to curriculum development and departmental service within the College of Law.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

• Teach Islamic Sharia courses to undergraduate law students.
• Employ innovative and effective teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
• Provide academic advising and guidance to students.

Curriculum & Academic Development

• Contribute to curriculum development and improvement within the department.
• Commit to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in the relevant field.

Research & Scholarship

• Demonstrate research experience through publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Scopus database.
• Maintain a strong research record with an appropriate H-index reflecting significant scholarly impact and contributions in the field of Islamic Sharia/Fiqh.

Collaboration & Service

• Engage in professional participation with relevant professional institutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and participate in community outreach.
• Contribute to departmental and university service through committee participation and other activities.

Professional Standards

• Adhere to confidentiality and other ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• PhD in Islamic Sharia with a specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh and its Principles).
• Teaching experience in Introduction to Islamic Jurisprudence, Family Law (Marriage and Divorce), Inheritance and Wills, and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.
• Research experience demonstrated through publications in reputable academic journals.

• Proficiency in both Arabic and English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete assigned tasks within designated timelines.
