Role Overview

Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Kalba, College of Computing and Intelligent Systems.

Role Purpose

Contribute to high-quality teaching, research, curriculum development, and service activities aligned with the mission of the University.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Course Development

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science.
  • Deliver programming courses with a strong focus on Java and Python.
  • Develop course syllabi, learning materials, assessments, and instructional strategies aligned with program outcomes.
  • Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies effectively into teaching and learning activities.
  • Apply learning practices effectively.

Student Mentorship & Assessment

  • Supervise and mentor students academically.
  • Support student research and career development.
  • Mentor and advise students at all levels.
  • Undertake formative and summative assessments to ensure progress and implement interventions where required.

Research & Scholarship

  • Conduct research in your discipline.
  • Publish in reputable, high-impact journals indexed in Scopus.

Curriculum & Program Development

  • Participate in curriculum development, program review, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Service & Community Engagement

  • Engage in departmental, college, and university service and administrative responsibilities.
  • Engage in professional activities and community service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an internationally recognized university.
  • University-level teaching experience.
  • Publication record in high-reputable journals indexed in Scopus within the candidate's research area.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach programming courses, particularly Java and Python.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Java and Python programming.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies.
