Role Overview
Assistant Professor in Psychology at the College of Humanities and Sciences, Ajman University, starting Spring semester 2026–2027.
Role Purpose
Develop and deliver psychology courses while advancing the university's core mission of teaching, research, and community service. Evaluate student progress, conduct research, and contribute to accreditation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
- Develop and deliver courses in specified discipline areas of study aligned with the university's three fundamental standards: Teaching, Research, and Services.
- Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course objectives.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Student Support and Progress
- Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success.
Curriculum and Resources
- Research, organize, and manage instructional resources, course outlines, and community networks.
Institutional Engagement
- Support and participate in accreditation initiatives.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD from an accredited university in the United Arab Emirates.
- At least 3 years of experience in teaching in an academic institution applying the credit hour system.
- Published papers in journals within global databases (Scopus).
- Fluency in both Arabic and English; Arabic is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple diverse communities.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Program planning and implementation skills.
- Knowledge of computerized student information systems and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
