Role Purpose
As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you are responsible for daily food preparation and assigned duties to meet set standards and quality requirements, ensuring exceptional pastry and bakery operations that align with luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pastry Operations & Quality
- Oversee pastry and bakery operations, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, presentation, and cost efficiency in line with luxury standards.
- Follow proper handling and correct temperature maintenance of all food products.
- Maintain food preparation handling and correct storage standards.
- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
- Enforce strict health and hygiene standards.
Menu Development & Innovation
- Develop, design, and create new ideas and items for the Pastry Kitchen.
- Assist the Pastry Chef with menu development.
- Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to create refined menus, standardized recipes, and innovative offerings that elevate the guest experience.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop the Pastry team through training, coaching, and performance management while upholding the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and service excellence.
- Help maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven work experience as an Assistant Pastry Chef.
- Previous experience in a large hotel with at least 500 keys in a luxury property required.
- Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
