Assistant Operator, Slickline

Role Overview

Assistant Operator, Slickline at ADNOC. This role provides support to the Slickline Operator and assists with pre- and post-job operations.

Role Purpose

Assist with raising and lowering downhole tools using wire cable to test and maintain wells, including bailers, pulling tools, stems and running tools. Support in retrieving and installing valves, plugs and pressure regulators. Direct fishing tools used to retrieve broken or lost wire or equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Job Execution & Operations

• Interact with third parties whose activities could negatively impact slickline job execution process to ensure proper coordination.
• Assist in the rig-up of equipment in accordance with accepted procedures.
• Assist in lowering and raising downhole tools and plugs to proper depth.
• Assist in the usage of weight indicator gauges and depth counters to monitor the tension and depth of the slickline.
• Direct the fishing tools used to retrieve broken or lost wire or equipment.

Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance

• Report all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents and injuries immediately to supervisor.
• Attend weekly Safety Meetings.
• Understand and implement operational (OS) and technical standards including other company requirements for each task performed.
• Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
• Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.

Maintenance & Equipment

• Support in performing on-site emergency unit and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Data Collection & Reporting

• Collect and record relevant data.
• Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
• Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.

Policies, Systems & Procedures

• Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to accomplish operational objectives.

Training & Development

• Provide on-the-job training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Time Management

• Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.

Housekeeping

• Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

General Duties

• Perform other similar or related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent computer skills.

Additional Information

Communications & Working Relationships

• Maintain regular contact with all Supervisors and Operators for follow-up on slickline services.
• Maintain regular contact with Team Leaders in other departments.
• Maintain regular contact with clients to discuss slickline services and HSE matters.
