Assistant Manager - Human Resources at Landmark Group. This is a Human Resources Business Partner role supporting Retail Stores and Warehouse Operations.

Home Centre, the division this role supports, is the largest omnichannel retailer for home furnishings in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Indian sub-continent. Established in 1995 with its first store in the UAE, Home Centre operates over 80 stores across the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and India. The e-commerce platform offers over 14,000 products.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Emiratization, and Employee Relations for Home Centre Retail Stores and Warehouse Operations. The Assistant Manager acts as a strategic HR partner, executing recruitment processes, managing performance systems, maintaining HR data and analytics, supporting employee relations, and delivering HR projects aligned with People and Business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Execute the recruitment strategy and manage the end-to-end recruitment process.
  • Support the Senior Manager - HR in planning and preparation of the annual manpower acquisition plan and budget.
  • Assist the Senior Manager - HR in development of recruitment strategy, including job posting optimization, sourcing channel development, digital and non-digital employment marketing, and campus relations.
  • Assist the Senior Manager - HR in creation of HR tools including Job Descriptions and Competency Profiles.
  • Identify future talent needs and proactively source and recruit external talent or develop internal talent pools.
  • Ensure achievement of recruitment targets for the Concept as per the approved manpower budget.
  • Ensure effective utilization of the local recruitment quota and nationalization targets.
  • Monitor and administer the end-to-end Recruitment Process for all roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, salary negotiation, offer rollout, induction, onboarding, and pre-employment checks.
  • Analyse hiring results, metrics, and trends and based on data make appropriate recommendations to enhance the recruiting process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party recruitment agencies and staffing firms.
  • Design and rollout an Induction Program for Home Centre new joiners.
  • Manage the Induction Program and ensure seamless induction and onboarding for new hires.
  • Evaluate and monitor program effectiveness and make necessary changes to the program.

Performance Management & Rewards

  • Support implementation of the Performance Management process including KPI setting, Quarterly reviews, annual appraisals, and salary increments/promotions in line with Corporate and Concept directives.
  • Facilitate the performance management process in Retail & Warehouse, ensuring objective administration of the process and accuracy in feedback collation.
  • Work with IT to ensure system readiness and accuracy of data prior to and during the appraisal cycle.
  • Ensure tracking of performance management, preparation, and submission of related reports to management.
  • Manage the collation of salary increments and generation of letters and reports.
  • Issue and track Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and Warning letters.

HR MIS and Data

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports.
  • Regularly provide updates, suggestions, and insights based on data to help shape strategic initiatives and plans.
  • Manage and maintain all relevant trackers in agreed formats, including attrition, Disciplinary, and PIP trackers.
  • Ensure that correct and complete information is stored in the My Landmark System.

Employee Relations

  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary issues, ensuring fair and equitable resolution in line with Consequence Management Policy.
  • Conduct regular visits to stores to gather employee feedback and ensure appropriate resolution of issues.
  • Hold regular meetings with new joiners to help them integrate into the business and settle in.

HR Projects

  • Support HR initiatives and projects in alignment with the People Strategy and Business strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate or Post-graduate degree with specialization in Human Resources Management.
  • 4-5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and policies.
  • Knowledge of local labour law and legal compliance.
  • Knowledge of Performance Management.
