Role Overview

Assistant Manager – Floral Operations at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, 50 miles from Dubai International Airport.

Company Overview

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE, opening in 2027. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a theater, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

Role Purpose

To support the Floral Director in all phases of floral operations, ensuring alignment of department activities, maintaining Wynn Al Marjan Island's high standards of quality, and supervising daily floral operations while acting as the Floral Director's deputy during absences.

Key Responsibilities

Floral Operations & Quality Control

• Support the Floral Director in all phases of floral activities and maintain alignment of all department activities.
• Inspect all front-of-house floral arrangements daily to ensure Team Members deliver Wynn Al Marjan Island's high standards of quality.
• Check all flowers in the front area daily and freshen floral arrangements when necessary.
• Maintain good quality and cost control on all flower arrangements.
• Design and collaborate with the Floral Designer to deliver the highest quality and best design across the resort and public areas.
• Coordinate floral arrangements for Banquet Event Orders and stay up-to-date with upcoming events and floral needs.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Manage floral inventory and coordinate with the Floral Director.
• Ensure that all fresh flowers and floral accessories are properly stored in good condition and stocked adequately.
• Conduct regular inventory of flowers, vases and accessories items.
• Report any irregularities found within the department.

Department Operations & Administration

• Supervise daily operations within the floral department.
• Act on behalf of the Floral Director during his or her absence.
• Consult the Floral Director for approval of any major changes.
• Oversee department administration and manage operating expenses.
• Make suggestions for improvement of operations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Train and supervise Team Members to create team spirit and improve standards of arranging flowers.
• Assist the Floral Director with training to Team Members to ensure job skills are constantly improved and developed in accordance with the established training plan.
• Always check the grooming of all Team Members to ensure they comply with the established Wynn Al Marjan Island standards.
• Promote a work environment where employees feel valued, appreciated, involved and safe.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibility

• Ensure that health and safety standards are closely monitored and constantly improved to avoid any health or injury hazards occurring from malpractices.
• Proactively participate in the hotel recycling program and promote strict discipline to reduce, re-use and re-cycle wherever possible and appropriate.

General

• Accept any other duties when assigned by the Floral Director.

Qualifications & Experience

• Five years' experience in a 5-star integrated hotel or resort.
• Three years in a leadership role.
• Previous experience in commercial floral (preferred).
• Previous experience in large events, big-scale weddings, and shows (preferred).
• Fluent in English.
• Familiar with Western, Asian, and Middle Eastern flower design.
• Experience in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
