Assistant Manager – Business Banking Governance (UAE Nationals Only)

Role Overview

Assistant Manager – Business Banking Governance at Emirates Islamic Bank in the UAE. This position is open to UAE Nationals only.

Role Purpose

The role supports Business Banking's compliance and governance activities by ensuring alignment with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. The position coordinates compliance reviews, regulatory initiatives, and updates to relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service & Transactions

• Respond effectively to Business Banking client needs and resolve queries and complaints.
• Ensure transactions are completed accurately and on time.

Compliance & Governance Framework

• Support the oversight and implementation of the compliance framework within Business Banking.
• Coordinate compliance reviews, risk assessments, audits, regulatory initiatives, and remediation projects.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
• Provide ongoing governance and compliance support to frontline teams, including monitoring and analyzing customer profiles.
• Ensure adherence to legal, corporate, regulatory, and internal control requirements.

Document & Information Management

• Maintain strict confidentiality and control of documents and secured items to prevent loss or misuse.

Business Analysis & Transformation

• Deliver high-quality business analysis, governance, projects and transformation initiatives.
• Plan and execute business analysis, governance, projects and transformation initiatives in line with agreed priorities.
• Review information to ensure accurate and complete outputs.
• Resolve issues and escalate material exceptions.
• Maintain clear records and timely updates.

Governance & Compliance Controls

• Apply approved governance, change, risk and quality frameworks consistently.
• Complete required checks, approvals and documentation.
• Identify control gaps and support corrective action.
• Maintain audit-ready evidence.

Service Quality & Efficiency

• Analyse performance and feedback.
• Recommend practical process improvements.
• Support automation and standardisation.
• Track improvements and sustained benefits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Strategy, Project Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the UAE banking sector.
• Good knowledge of banking products, operations, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Relevant banking or professional certification is preferred.
