Role Overview
Assistant Maintenance Technician at Burjline Builders. The position involves daily maintenance operations and repairs across property and building systems.
Role Purpose
To execute daily maintenance operations, identify and prioritize building maintenance needs, perform corrective and preventative maintenance across multiple trades, and ensure safe and functional facilities while working independently and with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Daily Management
- Run daily maintenance operations of the property and buildings.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence of supervision.
Safety & Inspections
- Inspect property and buildings for life and safety issues and take immediate corrective action.
- Inform the line manager of safety issues identified.
- Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs.
Maintenance Planning & Coordination
- Identify building maintenance needs, prioritize work and take corrective actions subject to manager approval.
- Develop preventive maintenance reports, recommend priorities and perform corrective maintenance required.
- Assist contractors with any requirements the company requires.
Skilled Building Maintenance
- Perform a full range of skilled building maintenance for extended periods of time.
- Perform preventative maintenance on buildings including skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, dry walling, plumbing, heating, limited air conditioning and basic mechanical repair work.
- Maintain door hardware and keying.
- Maintain exit and emergency lighting.
Electrical Work
- Repair electrical switches, outlets, lighting systems and fixtures.
Plumbing Work
- Perform advanced level plumbing work including installation, repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets, water heaters and pipes.
- Clear obstructions from water and sewer lines.
Carpentry Work
- Perform adequate level carpentry work including repair of stairs, handrails, trim, walls, windows, siding, doors and other work.
Equipment Maintenance
- Repair and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
Additional Information
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
