Assistant Instructor – Computer Engineering (UAE National only)

Role Overview

Assistant Instructor – Computer Engineering, reporting to the Dean of the College and supervised by the Head of Department at Ajman University's College of Engineering and Information Technology. UAE National candidates only.

Role Purpose

Provide effective support to faculty in fulfilling their responsibilities to the university and its students across curricular and co-curricular activities, including teaching, advising, supervising, training, and guiding students. Support faculty research activities and university services to stakeholders. Adapt to flexible working hours as required.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning Support

• Provide support to faculty and instructors to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assist faculty and instructors in planning, preparation, and implementation of daily teaching and learning activities.
• Assist faculty in planning, preparing, and developing various teaching aids for classroom use.
• Assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.

Laboratory & Technical Support

• Assist in planning, developing, and managing teaching laboratories.
• Help students and researchers conduct experiments, research, and projects.

Program & Activity Coordination

• Assist faculty and instructors in organizing and implementing internship programs.
• Participate in college committees and carry out other tasks related to the course or college as assigned by the Dean, Head of Department, or course Instructor.
• Assist in organizing and implementing co-curricular activities within the university and outside.

Student Development

• Assist faculty in activities related to student advising.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree minimum in Computer Engineering discipline.
• Strong communication skills and English proficiency.
• Adequate knowledge in programming languages including C, C++, Python, and VHDL.
• Understanding of hardware design principles, digital systems, computer architecture, networking and security, and related topics.

• Provide activities for students that encourage learning abilities.
• Supervisory skills.
• Ability to use software packages and engage with latest learning and teaching tools and platforms relevant to computer engineering, including MATLAB, FPGA development tools, and CAD software.
