Role Purpose
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager brings heightened expertise and a results-driven approach to elevate the dining experience within the Food & Beverage department. This role supports the smooth running of all aspects of guest food and beverage service, ensuring delivery to the highest levels while fostering a culture of growth, development and performance across the F&B team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service Delivery
- Support the smooth running of the food & beverage department across all aspects of guest service experience.
- Work proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort by listening, resolving guest concerns with empathy, and delivering positive and timely responses to enquiries.
- Ensure adherence and compliance to all legislation, hotel policies and food safety requirements, with due diligence activities planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit.
Strategy & Performance
- Develop and implement food & beverage strategies aligned with Radisson Hotel Group's mission, vision and values, ensuring outlets meet or exceed brand standards.
- Deliver effective programmes that advance service standards, profitability and cost control, including menu development and pricing.
- Communicate effectively with guests, management, employees and the regional office, promoting outlets through local advertising and public relations initiatives.
Team Management
- Manage the food & beverage team, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance.
- Ensure rosters, training and onboarding are completed in a timely manner.
Budget & Cost Control
- Take responsibility for the departmental budget, ensuring costs and inventory are controlled and aligned with productivity and performance targets.
- Monitor par levels, ordering and stock management.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with food vendors, negotiating pricing and resolving disputes in partnership with Accounting.
Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver regular reporting on revenue, costs and guest satisfaction scores.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in food & beverage service with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
- Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms.
