Role Purpose
As Assistant Chief Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring properties deliver an experience beyond expectation, creating memorable moments for guests. You ensure the smooth running of the property maintenance department where all areas are maintained to the highest levels, while fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within your team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Ensure the smooth running of the property maintenance department with all areas maintained to the highest levels.
- Establish and deliver an effective planned preventative maintenance programme to address maintenance and environmental and conservation matters.
- Develop and implement plans where property maintenance initiatives and hotel targets are achieved.
- Prepare and take responsibility for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled and that productivity and performance levels are attained.
Guest Service & Satisfaction
- Work proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within the department.
Stakeholder & Compliance Management
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in property maintenance with strong problem solving capabilities.
- Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
- Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry.
- Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations.
