Role Overview
The College of Dentistry at Ajman University seeks a highly qualified candidate for a full-time position as Assistant / Associate Professor in Orthodontics. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong record of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, and scholarly research, with a commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
Role Purpose
The appointee will deliver high-quality didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in Orthodontics across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, contribute to curriculum development aligned with accreditation standards, supervise student research initiatives, conduct scholarly research, and provide clinical orthodontic services within Ajman University Dental Clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Development
- Deliver high-quality didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in Orthodontics for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of orthodontic curricula in line with accreditation and outcome-based education standards.
Research and Scholarly Activities
- Supervise student research projects and theses.
- Participate in multidisciplinary research initiatives.
- Contribute to the scholarly output of the College of Dentistry.
- Engage actively in research groups and collaborative academic activities within the university.
Clinical Service
- Provide clinical orthodontic services within Ajman University Dental Clinics.
- Ensure adherence to university policies, professional standards, and patient safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS or DDS).
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Orthodontics or a related discipline.
- Completion of structured clinical training and a recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics (e.g., MSc, MDS, Fellowship, or Board Certification) from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision.
- Proven track record of research, including peer-reviewed publications.
- Eligibility for professional licensure as an Orthodontist in the UAE.
- Eligibility to obtain licensure from the UAE Ministry of Health or relevant regulatory authority.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
