Role Overview

Precision Assembler at Flowserve, KSA manufacturing start-up dedicated to producing high-efficiency energy recovery devices (ERDs) using advanced ceramic components.

Company Overview

New KSA manufacturing start-up focused on producing high-efficiency energy recovery devices using advanced ceramic components. The operation prioritizes first-pass yield, on-time delivery, and zero defects in a dynamic start-up environment.

Role Purpose

Perform meticulous assembly and lapping of ceramic parts to achieve demanding performance standards. Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure product excellence while maintaining strict adherence to local regulatory requirements and company HSE policies.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Lapping

• Assemble ceramic components for ERDs following detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
• Perform precision lapping operations to achieve required fit, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy for optimal energy recovery performance.
• Use specialized lapping equipment, abrasives, and metrology tools to verify tolerances and surface quality.

Precision & Metrology

• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Operate micrometers, Mahr Dimentron Plug, Mahr GD280 Surface Analyzer, Mahr MMQ400 Form Machine, and Mahr Digimar Height Gage.
• Record inspection data and support SPC/capability studies (Cp/Cpk) to maintain stable processes.

Quality & Documentation

• Complete inspection records, route cards, and non-conformance reports.
• Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement events (5S/Kaizen).
• Operate in alignment with ISO 9001 quality expectations and contribute to audit readiness.

HSE & Compliance

• Apply safety standards and PPE requirements for assembly and lapping operations.
• Ensure compliance with company work instructions and local regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Participate in safety audits and emergency drills per site procedures.

Collaboration & Start-up Readiness

• Work cross-functionally with Planning, Engineering, and Quality to meet build schedules.
• Support NPI/prototype runs and rapid process stabilization typical of a start-up environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrable hands-on experience in precision assembly and lapping of ceramic or other high-performance components.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision metrology.
• Experience with ceramics commonly used in fluid-handling and sealing applications (e.g., Al₂O₃, ZrO₂).
• Exposure to ISO 9001/14001/45001 systems and audit participation.
• Familiarity with SPC tools, capability analysis, and problem-solving methods (RCA/8D).
• Technical diploma or apprenticeship in machining/manufacturing; secondary education acceptable with strong experience.

Skills & Competencies

• English language proficiency (spoken and written) for technical communication, training, and documentation; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong commitment to HSE practices and use of required PPE for assembly and lapping operations.
• Understanding of ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) is beneficial.
• Comfortable working in a start-up environment with evolving processes and documentation.

Additional Information

• Shop-floor role requiring standing, fine motor work, and safe lifting per site guidelines.
