Area Sales Manager

Role Overview

Area Sales Manager at Apparel Group. The position holds responsibility for the activities of multiple stores and achieving quantitative measures of performance within stores.

Role Purpose

Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, and operational efficiency of multiple retail stores. Ensure the highest levels of customer service are provided by retail staff, maximize sales and profitability, and represent the brand through exceptional customer service and retail experience.

Key Responsibilities

Performance & Sales Targets

• Achieve quantitative measures of performance including units per transaction, average transaction value, sales per month, sales per square feet, sales turnover, shrinkage control, and conversion percentage.
• Set store sales targets to maximize sales and profitability.
• Monitor inventory movement.

Staffing & Development

• Oversee recruiting, hiring, and training needs of the store.
• Orient new employees to Apparel Store Operations.
• Recruit and train staff on sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and other etiquettes as per company and brand requirements.
• Evaluate employee performance annually.
• Promote open lines of communication through coaching and motivation.

Store Operations & Standards

• Adhere to and enforce Company SOP, policies, and procedures in all assigned stores.
• Enforce loss prevention audit guidelines in all assigned stores and create measures to ensure compliance by all employees.
• Maintain and enhance the standards of customer service at all stores.
• Oversee implementation and execution of Visual Merchandising guidelines at all stores at all times.
• Interpret and make decisions on operations and visual standards based on store and client needs.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure scheduled staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis.
• Communicate business drivers, merchandise and quality issues, and other related information.
