Area Sales Manager

Role Overview

Area Sales Manager at Apparel Group. This position holds responsibility for the activities of multiple stores and achievement of quantitative measures of performance within stores.

Role Purpose

Oversee store operations across multiple locations to achieve sales targets, ensure exceptional customer service, maintain brand standards, and develop retail staff through recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Targets

• Achieve quantitative measures of performance in Units per transaction, Average transaction value, sales per month, sales per square feet, sales turnover, shrinkage control, and conversion percentage.
• Set store sales targets to maximize sales and profitability.
• Represent the brand by maximizing and contributing to sales within the store through exceptional customer service and retail experience.

Staff Management & Development

• Oversee recruiting, hiring, and training needs of the store.
• Orient new employees to Apparel Store Operations.
• Recruit and train staff on sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and other etiquettes as per company and brand requirements.
• Evaluate employee performance annually and promote open lines of communication through coaching and motivation.
• Ensure scheduled staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis.

Customer Service & Standards

• Achieve company objectives by ensuring the highest levels of customer service are provided by retail staff.
• Ensure retail staff have the skills and support required for maximizing sales.
• Maintain and enhance the standards of customer service at all stores.
• Interpret and make decisions on operations and visual standards based on store and client needs.

Compliance & Loss Prevention

• Adhere to and enforce Company SOP, Policies and procedures; loss prevention audit guidelines in all assigned stores.
• Create measures to ensure compliance by all employees.
• Make efficient decisions to enhance the overall performance of the store.

Visual Merchandising & Inventory

• Oversee the implementation and execution of Visual Merchandising guidelines at all stores at all times.
• Monitor inventory movement.

Communication

• Communicate business drivers, merchandise and quality issues, and other related information.
