Architect Engineer

Role Overview

Architect Engineer at Retal. The role is based on-site, supporting architectural design and project delivery across building design, codes compliance, and construction oversight.

Role Purpose

Review and develop building plans and site designs for aesthetics, environmental acceptability, code compliance, and accessibility. Lead architectural design delivery, coordinate with clients and contractors, and provide technical specialist support across project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Planning

• Review building plans and site design for aesthetics, environmental acceptability, compliance with codes and standards, and accessibility requirements.
• Develop new designs in accordance with codes and standards.
• Prepare plans and specifications as needed.
• Provide design and technical interface to project work with clients, other departments, suppliers, vendors, and consultants.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Present project design to client for review and make recommendations to meet their needs.
• Support the client in commenting on the contractor's IFC architectural drawings.
• Support the client in all technical issues related to the discipline where necessary.

Project Delivery & Execution

• Develop cost estimates and coordinate implementation of capital improvement projects.
• Develop construction bid proposals.
• Execute assigned work in accordance with Project Execution Plans, applicable Project Procedures and Standards within man-hour and cost budgets and project schedule targets.
• Participate in final inspection of improvement projects and make recommendations regarding acceptance of construction work.

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

• Act as a Lead Worker over the activities of subordinate professional staff.
• Advise Chief Architect on technical capability of staff as required to support manpower allocation to projects.
• Provide technical and architectural design support to projects as Lead Architect where required.
• Contribute to the group as a discipline technical specialist as required.
• Review, support, and agree project technical and design issues with the Lead Discipline Engineer, including dissemination and implementation of discipline best practice on projects.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with wood CORE Values.
• Ensure all work is carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment.

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare reports and correspondence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
• 1–3 years of experience in architecture design.
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco codes and standards.
• Excellent safety awareness.

Skills & Competencies

• Extensive knowledge of all international codes and standards, mainly the International Building Code.
• Extensive knowledge in industrial buildings.
• Extensive knowledge in AutoCAD and Microstation.
