APT Separation Engineer (Separators, Desalters) at NOV. Location not specified in the source.
Role Purpose
Develop and deliver competitive technical solutions for separation technology (separators and desalters) in accordance with local and international market needs, while managing tender processes, feasibility studies, and technology advancement for assigned discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Solution Development
- Develop specialist knowledge on assigned discipline.
- Develop products and solutions with APT Manager that align with local and international market needs.
- Execute feasibility studies, conceptual design, process studies, or provide input to these for assigned discipline.
- Recognize problems and discrepancies in work process and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain strong knowledge of competitor technology and execution approaches for assigned technology.
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry standards for assigned discipline.
Client & Business Development
- Support Business Development in client meetings as required.
- Provide time-efficient and quality responses to clients and P&L centers in commercial projects.
- Develop competitive commercial technical offers with APT Tender team using fit-for-purpose technology that does not place unacceptable liability risk on NOV.
Tender Management & Execution
- Provide time-efficient and quality responses to technology development projects.
- Provide leadership, oversee, coordinate and review the work of indirect subordinates to deliver winning tenders.
- Work with the tender team to devise solutions using experience and precedent to create unique selling propositions.
- Ensure tenders are cost-focused and developed in the most attractive manner for the client.
- Manage communication towards clients and participate in tender negotiations based on approved mandate.
- Capture and share lessons learned with the Tender Group after tender completion.
- Ensure proper handover to execution team in accordance with Company procedures when tender is won.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 10 years or more of experience in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
- Experience in Separation Projects for Middle East, including Water Knock Out Facilities.
- Participation in and close-outs of HAZOP and SIL studies.
- Deep knowledge of separation technology.
- Troubleshooting experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Process Simulation tools including HYSYS, UNSIM, and Flaresim.
